Hi! I’m cutesy macabre: an intro

Hello there, thanks for checking out my site and blog! My name is Keighley, but I go by my art pseudonym, cutesy macabre. I am a self-taught artist who is originally from Massachusetts, but have found my home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

I come from a big family, and we moved around a lot when I was younger. I really loved to draw when I was younger, filling up sketchbooks upon sketchbooks with little drawing studies of objects I’d find around my house: bobbypins, keys, coffee mugs, notebooks, and tissue boxes made up the majority of those. When I wasn’t trying to draw from life, I’d either fill pages with doodles, or try to draw faces I found in magazines. I went through different phases of artistic focus, spending a few months here on eyes, and several years on hands (specifically, my own).

Had I continued this practice with the frequency that I got into the habit of when I was younger, I would very likely be much farther than I am today. As it stands, a new hobby came for me and settled in until I turned 30: theatre.
